Alexander Muirbrook
Alexander and his mother crossed the Atlantic on the ship Harvest Queen in 1856; on the New York list of arriving passengers she is listed as "Isabel Mearbrook" and he as "Alex Mearbrook." The first documentation to place them in Utah is the marriage of Isabella's daughter from her first marriage ( Isabella McPherson) in November 1859 (see our note for Isabella McPherson). In the 1860 Utah census mother Muirbrook and Alexander are in the household of John Shields of Tooele. Further research is needed to identify the name of the pioneer company with which they crossed the plains. In some sources Alexander's surname is spelled "Moorbrook". His birth date is confirmed by his death certificate.
