He is listed in Rosel Hyde's journal and freight manifest as an out-and-back teamster in the company. The Alma Louis Mecham who came to Utah in 1852 with the Robert Wimmer pioneer company may be this individual. However, most of the men who were recruited as out-and-back teamsters were from the Bountiful, Kaysville, or Layton, Utah area and Alma Louis Mecham was living in Tooele, Utah in 1863. Further research is needed to determine the identity of the Alma Mecham whose traveled to Utah with the 1863 Rosel Hyde pioneer. His name also appears on page 13 of the Rosel Hyde, notebook. Rosel Hyde's journal shows his surname as "Meecham."
