Alvus Houston Patterson
Alvis came with his wife and six children. He served as Assistant Sergeant of Guard and was also the leader of the Scandinavian group. The following year, he was sent back out across the plains as an out-and-back teamster by the Payson Ward. Again, in 1863, he captained his own company, bringing back more emigrants from across the plains.
