 June 19, 1836, p.1- Conference held at Portage, Allegany co., N.Y. Andrew H. Squires chosen Clerk; Andrew J. Squires preached; Elder Andrew J. Squires adds the following post scription: "The work of the Lord is greatly prospering in this part of the country, and many are becoming convince of the truth of the everlasting gospel. A number of the Seventies are preaching in this region with success." July 1836 (before 1st) p. 2- Elders Andrew J. Squires and Zebedee Coltrin have recently some in from the field of their labors in the state of New York and say that they, together with Elder Wm Bosley, have baptized 14; and that there are more calls for preaching than they could supply.
