"Ann Alderton" crossed the Atlantic on the ship Ellen Maria in 1853 with her husband Richard and their two children: George R. and Charlotte.  All of them are listed on the original roster of the Cyrus Wheelock Company in the sub-division led by Captain Kendall.  "Mary Ann" Alderton was re-baptized at Salt Lake City on 27 May 1854 but she does not appear in the 1856 Utah census under the Alderton surname (although her son George is in the Salt Lake 11th ward--the only Alderton in the entire census).  This suggests that Richard, Mary Ann's husband and Charlotte, her daughter, may have died before reaching Utah and that Mary Ann may have re-married between 1854 and 1856.
