Bertha Maria Rasmussen

The Rasmussen family arrived in America via the ship John J. Boyd in 1855. Bertha is listed as "Birgit Maria" on the ship roster. The family consisted of Mikkel and Ingeborg, and their children, Bertha Maria, Karen, Niels, Rasmine, Rasmus, Soren and Soren Peter.

She was sent ahead of the family in 1857 with her siblings Rasmus and Rashmina, both of which died crossing the plains.
