Bertha Mary King

Bertha initially traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in the Claudius V. Spencer Company in 1853 with her family.  Her family consisted of her mother, Hannah Tapfield King, father, Thomas Owen King, and siblings Thomas Owen Jr., Louisa Helen, and Georgiana.

Her birth date is confirmed by Salt Lake Seventeenth Ward records at the time of a rebaptism on 27 March 1857.

The inscription on her gravestone in Nevada shows her name as "Bertha K. Kearney," and it confirms the years of her birth and death.
