Betsy Clark Williams

At this time, Betsy's relationship to Henry Tempest is unclear. Betsy is listed on the company roster in between Henry and his two boys, James and John. However, she is not connected to Henry on Family Tree and was not mentioned in a biographical sketch concerning Henry's trail experience (on Family Tree). However, her obituary does state that she traveled to Utah by handcart in 1860 with her husband (husband's name not given in obituary). A biographical sketch for Betsy found in CR 100 18 states that she met Tempest in the east and married him there but no date was provided. They may have been divorced in Utah in 1860. More research is needed to confirm that possibility. The same biographical sketch also provides a birth date of 5 November 1821.
