Betsy Walker (age 39) was living in "Great Salt Lake" at the time of the 1850 Utah census. With her in the same household were William Walker (age 38) and Thomas Walker (age 17). All three were born in England. In the same household are John C. Egbert (age 9), Robert Egbert (age 6), Elizah Egbert (age 4) and Isaac Egbert (age 1). It is unknown if there was a familial relationship between the Walkers and the Egberts. According to New Family Search the Egberts were children of Joseph Teasdale Egbert and his wife Mary Caroline Allred. The Egberts already appear on the Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel website in the Allen Taylor Company of 1849. Perhaps this is where the Walkers and the Egberts became acquaintred but a search of the Church History Library and Archives in Salt Lake City has failed to verify this. Additional research is needed to identify the year the Walkers crossed the plains and the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.
