Eliza was born 14 November 1851 in Iowa, and Emma, another daughter, was born in Provo, Utah on 27 February 1854, so the Perry family would have arrived in Utah in 1852 or 1853. Further research is needed to determine the year of their arrival in Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.
Caroline and John Perry divorced in Utah County in 1854 and Caroline married Dominicus Carter in October of that year. Therefore in the 1856 and 1860 Utah census she and her daughter have the Carter surname. At the time of death her surname was Fenstermaker.
