Catherine Lyons

Catherine is listed in the rosters of both the 1862 Homer Duncan and the 1862 John Murdock Companies. The companies would have been traveling fairly closely together and she had family traveling in both companies. It is possible that she traveled in both for a portion of the journey. In the Murdock Company, she is seen traveling with her mother and stepfather, Jonathan Householder, and in the Duncan Company, she is shown as traveling with her step-brother, William Householder, and his wife and children. She is listed with the surname of Householder in both company rosters. The obituary of her brother-in-law, John Binks, who was traveling in the Murdock Company, indicates that she was buried in the same grave as his wife (her sister), Sarah Lyon Binks, on the trail.
