Catherine Olene Plowman
Maren and her children Catherine and Anders sailed to America in 1863 on the ship B. S. Kimball. Apparently little Anders died in 1863, and we have not been able to find out if he survived the journey to Utah.
The first documentation to place Maren and Catherine in Utah is Maren’s marriage to Moses Trader Shepherd on 17 December 1864, which proves that they arrived in Utah in 1863 or 1864. Further research is needed to determine the year the family arrived and the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled to Utah.
Her birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on her gravestone and the Idaho Southeast Counties Obituaries record.
