The obituary of Charles Albert Reese states that the family came to Utah in 1861 Death certificate and the Utah State History cemeteries and Burials Database record his birth date as 20 Nov. 1859, but his obituary gives the date as 16 Nov. 1859.

He came from Wales on the ship, Underwriter in 1860 with his parents, Charles and Sarah and a brother, William.
