Evidence from newspaper and tombstone inscriptions proves that the Carter family traveled to Utah in 1862. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company they traveled with.The inscription on his gravestone states that he was a pioneer of 1862.His name is listed as "Charles S. Carter" on the Utah State History Cemeteries and Burials Database.
