Charles Jacquet Paquet
Evidence from genealogical records, census, and church ordinance records proves that the Paquet family traveled to Utah in 1850. Martha Ann was born in Iowa 25 January 1850. The family appears on the 1850 Utah census, which was taken in the Spring of 1851, and Charles was rebaptized 11 May 1851, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration.
Charles was rebaptized in Salt Lake City on 11 May 1851. The Salt Lake Stake Record of Members confirms his birth date and place of birth as St. Francis, Canada, and his name is shown as "Charles Pennket." The 19th Ward Record of Members shows his name as "Charles Parket," with the same birth date and birth place-- St. Francis, Canada. His rebaptism date proves that he arrived in Utah by 1850.
The spelling of his surname is confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone.
All of the census records show the family's name as "Packett."
