Charles Pears Smith
The Smith family sailed to America in 1849 on the ship Berlin.
In his autobiography, Charles says that he left his mother and brothers near Council Bluffs, Iowa and came to Utah a year before they made the trip. He served as a teamster on his way to Utah. The rest of his family traveled to Utah with the 1852 Thomas C.D. Howell Company.
