Charles Stoudemann
Although his name appears on the 1854 Robert L. Campbell handwritten roster (spelled Stoyddmann), he only joined that company after the death of his parents. According to information in the minutes of a property dispute trial, his mother requested that he be cared for by Frederick Loba before she died. There were other Swiss people in the Campbell company, including the Loba family (with whom he is listed) who were from his Swiss hometown of Lausanne.
Rebaptized in the Tenth Ward on 3 December 1854 under the name "Charles Loba."
Rebaptized again in the Smithfield Ward on 5 July 1850 under the name "Charles Stoudeman." This baptism record included an exact birthdate.
