Some records spell the surname as Broderson. Christian traveled with his wife, Else Mortensen Brothersen, and five children. The Brothersen family crossed the sea by way of the ship Westmoreland. In 1860 census records, the Brothersen family was listed as living in Sanpete county, Utah. His birth date and death date are confirmed by the inscription on his gravestone.
