Cynthia Remina Drake

Daughter of Daniel Newell and Cynthia Parker Johnson Drake.  Her mother died on land of the Ponca Indians (modern Nebraska) in 1847.  Later that year young Cynthia was with her father in the Council Point Branch, Iowa of the church.  In 1856 she traveled from Texas to Salt Lake City with her aunt, Sylvia Johnson Hawley.  She married Edward Gilson.
