Evidence from church records and the birth of Orson in Wyoming in September 1861 proves that Cyrene and her husband John with her children Smith Hicks, Anna Hicks, William Hicks, George Hicks, and Starks Hicks traveled to Utah in 1861. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company with which they traveled.
She is in Illinois in 1860 census with her children, prior to her marriage with John Knapp.
Her birth and death dates are confirmed by her death certificate, which shows her name as "Cyrene Elsie Wicks."
