Notes

Daniel was ordained to the Priesthood office of Apostle to assume his position as second counselor in the First Presidency, however he never served in the Quorum of the Twelve. Upon the death of Brigham Young, and the subsequent dissolution of the First Presidency, Wells was sustained as a "Counselor to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles" (see timeline event dated 6 October 1877). The purpose of the Church Leadership dataset it to track Church positions, hence why his ordination to Apostle is not included on his timeline at this time.
