David J. Williams

Birth Date
Circa 1841 August (Born)
Death Date
On 1927 June 6 (Died)
Gender
Male

The Williams family arrived in New York on 23 June 1864 via the ship The General McClellan. The British Mission record (as documented in Mormon Migration) indicates that David's father, Thomas, was a Collier. David was traveling with his parents and siblings. The ship passenger list confirms this, but lists the surname as "Williamson."

The overland company roster does not list his name with that of the rest of his family. Perhaps he married and is listed as his own head of household. There are a couple other David Williams in this company with questionable birth dates.

The 1900 Idaho census shows him living in Malad, in the same community as many in his family. It gives his emigration year of 1864. More research is needed to confirm his date of birth.
