David Martin Oaks
He intially came to the Valley in 1852 with his parents, but several years later he is seen crossing the plains again, this time as a teamster for the William Chipman 1866 out-and-back company. Company records list him as Martin Oaks from Heberville (Heber City). More research needed concerning Martin's date of birth. Census records indicate he was born sometime between 1847 and 1848.
