David arrived in Utah between 1851 and 1853.  He does not appear in the 1850 Utah census.  The first documentation to place him in Utah is his purchase of property in Salt Lake City 1 November 1853.  Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah and the name of the pioneer company he traveled with.

His death date is confirmed by his obituary.
