Dimon Runnels McFerson

Evidence from census, newspaper, and genealogical records proves the McFerson family traveled to Utah in 1851. They appear on the Iowa census, enumerated in September 1850. A daughter is born in Utah in Jan. 1852. These two events narrows the window of the travel to 1851 and prove they had to come in that year.

Diman registered with the Territorial Militia on 21 May 1853.  The index to the registrtion shows his name as "Timan Mcfurson," but the original record shows his name as "Diman McFurson."
