The Journal History article dated October 20th confirms that he traveled to the Valley that year and the article dated the 25th confirms that he was there as a member of the Church. Further research is needed to properly identify this individual.
A note at the back of the rebaptism records (CR 100 591) states that he was born aboard the ship "Amelia" and his parents names were "D. Ruttan and Rhoda Ruttan." He was baptized in Ogden, Utah on 25 October 1862 and "was confirmed in the Historian's Office Monday Oct. 27, 62."
