At age 5, Edna told everyone she was going on a mission and they all laughed. Women do not serve missions. She one of the 1st Sister Missionaries in the Brooklyn Eastern States Mission. A newspaper article said "she was of medium height, with dark hair, clear hazel eyes and an air of invincible determination. While on her mission she spent 2 nights in the Joseph Smith home in Palmyra, New York.
