Eleanor was the daughter of David and Jane Bowen. The family came from Wales on the ship, Chimbarazo in 1855.  Their journey westward continued as part of the Hunt company. The Bowen family lived together in Spanish Fork in 1860, according to census records. Eleanor's married surname was Thomas, as indicated by her gravestone.
