The Hoopes family appears on the 1850 Utah Census (enumerated in the Spring of 1851), but does not appear on the 1850 Iowa Census taken in Sept. 1850. Thus they had to have traveled to Utah in 1850. Further research is needed to determine the name of the company with which the traveled.
