Eliza Denton
Evidence from emigration and church records proves that Eliza traveled to Utah between 1855 and 1857. She sailed to America in 1855 on the ship Siddons with her husband Samuel Cusley, but we have not been able to find evidence that he came on to Utah with her. He died in England in 1909.
The first documentation to place her in Utah is her marriage Daniel Greenig in Salt Lake City on 1 November 1857. Further research is needed to determine the year of her arrival in Utah and the name of the pioneer company with which she traveled.
Her birth and death dates are confirmed by her death certificate and the inscription on her gravestone, which show her surname as "Hooper."
