Eliza Jane Fosdick
Eliza Jane married Rufus Beach in Nauvoo on 21 January 1846, and Rufus came to Utah in 1847 with the Daniel Spencer/Perrigrine Session pioneer company, but Eliza Jane was not with him.
Her name appears as "Eliza Grant" on the 1850 Missouri census with Sains Grant, age 35, born in 1815 in France. This census was taken on 2 September 1850, so we know that she came to Utah between 1851 and 1856, when she died in Utah. Further research is needed to determine the year of her arrival and the name of the pioneer company with which she traveled.
All of the death records show her surname as variation of "Fosdick." With her surname being "Grant" on the 1850 Missouri census, it is possible that she was married to a man with the surname of "Grant" before marrying Rufus Beach.
