
Eliza Slater
The Slater family received financial assistance from the Perpetual Emigrating Fund. Although not directly listed in the memorandum book, John (Eliza's father) purchased enough food rations for seven people. According to New York passenger lists, the Slater's traveled from Liverpool to New York aboard the Colorado, arriving 28 July 1868.
While traveling within the company Eliza met Richard Moyes, a teamster for the company. They married just after the company's arrival in the Salt Lake valley in 1868. Eliza was rebaptized on 2 )ctober 1868 in Sugarhouse ward.
