Daughter of George Edwin Bishop.  Although her name appears with her family on the passenger list of the ship American Congress before it left England in 1866 she was not with them when they arrived in New York.  According to records of the Bristol Branch of the L. D. S. Church, Elizabeth "remained back to pay her fathers indebtedness."   She crossed the Atlantic on the ship Colorado in 1868 and is described as a "tailoress" on the ship manifest; she received financial assistance from the Perpetual Emigrating Fund.  She is probably the woman identified as her father's wife on the Deseret News roster of the Seeley company.   At the time of the 1900 federal census Elizabeth confirmed that she immigrated in 1868.  Elizabeth's surname at the time of her death was "Johns."
