Elizabeth Arthur
The Collins family sailed to America in 1854 on the ship John M. Wood, arriving in New Orleans on 2 May 1854. Frederick and Elizabeth were divorced in Salt Lake City on 3 October 1854. FamilySearch shows her maiden name as "Richardson," which was her mother's maiden name. However, the divorce record shows her maiden name as "Arthur." The International Genealogical Index (IGI) shows her marriage to Frederick Collins and shows her name as "Elizabeth Arthur." (Note that this record shows an incorrect spelling of his name as "Shedrick Collings.")
Her birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on the gravestone in of her daughter in Idaho, Mrs. W. H. King. This shows her name as "Elizabeth Richardson," the maiden name of her mother.
The 1860 Utah census shows her name as "Elizabeth Colwell." She is living with her husband Robert Colwell. Her son Frederick Collins is on this census and is also shown with the surname of "Colwell."
