Elizabeth Bowring
She sailed to the United States in 1856 on the ship Horizon. She sailed with her husband, William Oglesby, and five-year-old Robert N. Bowring.
On a handwritten roster of the William H. Dame Company of 1862, compiled at Fort Laramie, is the following entry, "Elizabeth Oglesby & son." The Utah death certificate of her son, George William Oglesby, confirms that he arrived in Utah in 1862. In the Salt Lake Tribune on 12 October 1890, p. 5, under the headline "In Probate Court," George W. Oglesby is named the executor of Elizabeth Oglesby's estate.
