Elizabeth and her family came to Utah between 1848 and 1852. The first documentation to place them in Utah the birth of a child January 1853 which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to narrow the year of their travel.

Her death certificate shows her name as "Elizabeth Lougee" and it confirms her birth and death dates.  Her father's name is listed as "James Caldwell."
