Thomas B. Smith from Santaquin, Utah; E. R. Crockett from Preston, Idaho; and W. R. Williams from Salem, Idaho arrived in the mission on April 22, 1921 (Calimis 8:13). May 19, 1921 Elder Frost and Crockett are laboring in Chico, California. They were out tracting the country all the way to Vina. As they finished tracting they were approached by citizens and asked if they would conduct a funeral service which was to start in twenty minutes. Being the only ministers in town they gladly consented and they were taken to the home of the bereaved family where most of the town citizens were gathered. They then met many whom they had tracted in the morning, some who had received them coldly now held out the glad hand of fellowship. A fine service was held. By grasping that one opportunity they made new friends that might never had been gained in any other manner (Calimis 10:3). Reported July 1, 1921- Elders Frost and Crockett of the Gridley Conference, who are at present in Liberty, are in a state of isolation. One, or both of them have the small-pox. They are staying at the home of Ernest Dewsnip (Calimis 12:6).
