Emma Clayson
Emma and Thomas arrived in New York on 18 July 1863 via the ship Amazon. (Their surname is spelled Clayton on the ship manifest.) Susannah Moulton is also on that ship and PEF records indicate that the three were traveling together.
Birth date confirmed by Payson Ward records at the time of a rebaptism on 6 April 1865.
Some family histories indicate they were part of the Daniel D. McArthur company in 1863. Further research is needed to confirm this.
