Frederick Matthew Van Leuven, Sr.

Captain of 5th Ten. Frederick traveled with his wife, Lydia, and their children. In 1850, the Van Leuven family was living in Missouri, according to census records. By 1860, they were located on the California census.

His mother, Mary Ann Pulver Van Leuven, also traveled to Utah with the 1852 Robert Wimmer Company.
