Missionary Activity Notes

"I was sent on a mission to California by Bishop Smith of the Bountiful 2nd Ward, and left in October 1943. Owing to the shortage of missionaries, I had to labor alone over at Ray, Arizona, where I was assigned to work. President Allen had mom called to the mission to be with me. So together, her and I preached the gospel to those wonderful people of Ray, Hayden, and Superior, Arizona. Our labor was wonderful together and we made friends and 17 converts, together with our work at Williams and Wickenburg. We started 4 primaries and 2 new branches. Sickness overtook us in Ray in 1945. We were sent to the coast at Carlsbad, California for a lower climate, and after many trials of finding a place to live, we landed at Solana Beach, and made our house there. We started 2 primaries and 3 new branches in Solana Beach, California."
