George Alfred Bennett

In the 1850 census of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, he was with his mother (Elizabeth Bennett) and his siblings John, Martha and Ellen.  They may have traveled to the Valley in the 1852 Warren Snow Company, though additional research is needed to confirm this.  The Immigration Location lists shows that he was assigned to settle in the south and in the 1856 Utah census he was in Payson, Utah. At the time of the 1870 census he was in Franklin, Cache County, Utah and by the 1900 census, he was in Soda Springs, Idaho. This is where he died. According to the journal of Charlotte Gunnell, Alfred made three trips across the plains. One of them was in 1863, when he was traveling with his wife and their two children.  Further research is needed to confirm there was a third company, and to identify it.

His mother, Elizabeth Bell and five of his siblings, all came in 1852. 

On 19 February 1857, he and Lucy were rebaptized in the Payson Ward. His date of birth comes from that record. He was rebaptized under the name "Alfred Bennet."
