George Crompton
George and his brother Joseph crossed the Atlantic on the ship General McClellan in 1864; on the ship manifest both are listed as "miners." George borrowed money from the Perpetual Emigrating Fund and his name was included on the company roster published in Deseret News. He was re-baptized on 13 November 1864 at Santaquin, Utah. At the time of the 1870 U. S. census he was in Uinta County, Wyoming. His death notice says he was from the "Alchamore Branch," Lancashire, England. He is buried at Coalville, Utah.
