George Washington Bean

George initially traveled to the Salt Lake Valley in the Jedediah M. Grant - Willard Snow Company in 1847.

In 1848, he went back with Shadrach Roundy to meet the Brigham Young Company.

He later participated as one of the rescuers that were sent out in the winter of 1856 to assist the members of the Church stranded in Wyoming.

In 1857, he returned from Carson Valley to Utah with the Chester Loveland Company.
