Griffith Solace Cunningham

The family emigrated north to Utah from Texas. The 1870 federal census indicates a six year old child was born in Utah, so the family would have arrived between 1861 and 1864. The 1870 census indicates that Chauncy was a black, domestic servant.

Bis birth date is confirmed by St. George Ward records at the time of a rebaptism on 1 January 1865. His headstone gives an alternative birth date of 27 October 1854. Further research is needed to determine which is accurate.
