Hannah Davis
Hannah joined the Church in October 1840 in Birmingham, England, under the name "Hannah Foster." She emigrated to the United States in 1859 on the William Tapscott, also under the name "Hannah Foster."
Hannah was rebaptized in the Eleventh Ward in Salt Lake City on 22 October 1859 under the name "Hannah Ostler." Death records provide the names of her parents, Jonathan and Mary Davis. She joined the Eleventh Ward in October 1859.
On the 1860 census, she appears in the home of Elizabeth (Stephens) Ostler and Elizabeth's father-in-law, Samuel Ostler. Her name in that record is "Anna." An exact marriage date for Hannah and Samuel has not yet been found. However, based on the dates of her arrival to Utah and rebaptism, they would have been married after 4 September 1859 and before 22 October 1859.
The ward records and death records conflict in regards to her date of birth. The ward records state she was born 30 January 1794 whereas the death records list a birthdate of 30 December 1795. The Historian's Office record of members index give a birthdate of 30 January 1796.
