Harriet Painter
She was a single woman. Her name is penciled in the captains records, after the fact. It seems to indicate that she was traveling with Ann Jackson and Alice Townsend. The adult food rations purchased for the three women were purchased in Ann's name. Captain's records also note that she left the company at "Henneyfordsville." This was likely Heneferville, later known as Henefer. It was a small community, located in Summit County, that began with the establishment of a blacksmith shop in 1859 on the old Overland Stage Road by James and Richard Henefer.
