Harriett Boughey
Harriet, her husband, George Elkin, and daughter, Sarah B. Elkin, arrived in New Orleans via the ship The Henry Ware on 9 April 1849. Family tradition indicates that George died in Missouri in 1854 and the first documentation to see Harriet in Utah is her and her daughter's marriage to Alvin B. Strickland in October of 1860. Harriet is also later seen under her second married name at the time of a rebaptism on 24 September 1865 in the Mt. Pleasant Ward. Further research is needed to narrow the year of her travel and identify the name of the company she traveled with.
