Heman Allison Hill
Heman often went by his middle name "Allison." He traveled to Utah with his sister Jerusha Searle and her husband John. Jerusha and Allison were orphans (their father--Leonard--had died 10 September 1846 and their mother--Sally Forbush Hill--in February 1847. Other members of the family had also succumbed after being expelled from Nauvoo.) In the 1850 federal census of Utah Heman is "Ellison" Hill, living in the Utah County household of Joseph and Anna Saxton. On 19 July 1853 he was re-baptized as "Elison H. Hill."
