Hugh Barr

Hugh sailed to America in 1849 on the ship Zetland, and the ship manifest shows his occupation as a "Mormon Laborer."

His name appears on the 1850 Missouri Census, which was taken in July of 1850.  His surname is listed as "Barre" in that record.

The first documentation to place him in Utah is his rebaptism, which took place 9 November 1851 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  His given name is shown as "Hue" on the record dated 2 January 1852.

Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company he traveled to Utah with in 1851.
