The obituary of Isaac Franklin Odekirk states that the Odekirk family came to Utah in 1850.  The year of their travel to Utah is also confirmed by the 1850 Utah census, which was taken in the Spring of 1851.  Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.

Isaac later participated as one of the rescuers that were sent out in the winter of 1856 to assist the members of the Church stranded in Wyoming.

The Membership Records document shows his surname as "Outerkirk."

The 1870 Utah census shows her surname as "Oderkirk."

His daughter, Hannah Ellen Odekirk, came to Utah in 1851 with the Phelps and Childs Freight Train, which arrived in June 1851.
